October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

In honor of those affected by cancer, Asheville Periodontics will be putting together “Comfort Kits” – Chemotherapy Care Kits for the patients of New Horizons Women’s Cancer Care Center in Asheville.

New Horizons Women’s Cancer Care’s mission is not only to diagnose and treat breast and gynecologic cancers, but also to create a caring environment through words, actions and services. The practice offers personalized care and integrated treatment plans in a comfortable environment where patients and loved ones can focus on healing.  Our office manager, Rachel Drake, has a personal connection to this special cancer center.

Here is a list of items we are in need of:

-Chapstick (Any brand okay)
-Puzzle Books (Crossword, Word Search, Sodoku)
-Journal/Notebooks (Brightly Colored)
-Hand Lotion (unscented, Aquaphor or Udder Cream), Travel Size
-Hand Sanitizer
-Boxes of tea (Celestial Seasonings, etc. Chamomile ok, no Valerian)
-Kleenex Packs (Brightly colored)
-Water Flavor Pack Boxes (Emergen-C, Crystal Light, etc.)

In regards the Coronavirus (Covid-19):

To lessen the load on hospital emergency rooms, we will be available should you have a serious dental emergency.  You can reach Dr. Goggin via phone or text at 828-423-0146 or Rachel our office manager 828-571-0116.  We do request that if you have cold, flu, COVID-19 symptoms, or have been in an active COVID-19 area in the last 14 days or have been in contact with someone who has, please let us know before being seen.
