MEET DR. CALDWELL

After attending Colorado State University from 1998 to 2001, studying Biochemistry, Dr. Caldwell continued her education completing a Bachelor of Medical Science and doctorate in Dental Surgery in 2005 at the University of Colorado Health Science Center, School of Dentistry.  In 2008 she completed her specialization in Periodontics. Dr. Caldwell was the Chief Periodontal Resident at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System in West Los Angeles. In addition, Dr. Caldwell has recently completed the first phase of becoming a Diplomate for the American Board of Periodontology.

Professional affiliations include memberships in the American Academy of Periodontology, Southern Academy of Periodontology, North Carolina Dental Society, Buncombe County Dental Society, Blue Ridge Study Club, American Dental Association and Delta Sigma Delta. 

In addition to treating patients in her private practice, Dr. Caldwell has been a guest lecturer for the West Los Angeles College, Hygiene Program and a clinical instructor at the University of California, Los Angeles Undergraduate Dental and Venice Dental Resident Clinics.  Her research topics include: "Maxillary Sinus Augmentation Using Allograft, Xenograft, and Calcium Sulfate Hemihydrate for Improvement of the Implant Site."  

Recognizing an important need a periodontist can fulfill, she volunteers at the VA dental clinic in Asheville, participated in the Missions of Mercy (MOM) project in North Carolina, the Gift of Smiles event, she has been part of the Advanced Clinical Training and Service Program that provided dental treatment to underserved areas of Colorado, and has spent two weeks providing dental care to HIV/AIDS orphans in Romania.

Her personal interests include running, mountain biking, yoga and hiking.
