Your First Visit

At Asheville Periodontics, we provide quality patient experiences to everyone who walks in our door.  Through personal growth and education, we remain energized and at the forefront of periodontal care.  On your first visit, you can expect our team to go above and beyond your expectations to provide you the best oral care and education.

During your first visit, we will introduce you to our team and talk with you about your medical and dental history.  Dr. Goggin will meet with you to learn more about your goals for your oral health and provide you with information about periodontal options for your case.

Your consultation will include a comprehensive periodontal education and oral cancer screening, as well as necessary dental radiographs and a thorough periodontal evaluation.  We will also take extraoral and intraoral photographs which aid us in treatment planning and evaluation.

We will communicate our finding and your periodontal treatment plan with you and your general dentist to coordinate any needed restorative services and follow up care.

We make every attempt to stay on schedule to minimize waiting at the time of your appointment.

To ensure that your appointment starts on time during your initial consultation, please assist us by providing the following information:

  • Your referral slip and x-rays from your referring dentist (if your dentist takes digital radiographs, please have these transferred to our office prior to your appointment)
  • If you do not have x-rays, please let us know when you make your appointment.
  • If you have dental benefits, please bring any forms or documentation with you to the appointment.

Patient Registration and Medical History Forms can be accessed from our website.  Please fill these out completely and submit them online.  They can also be printed and brought to your appointment.

In regards the Coronavirus (Covid-19):
At Asheville Periodontics, the health of our community is our top priority.  For the greater good of the community and the safety of our patients and staff, we will be temporarily closed beginning Thursday, March 19.  Stay tuned here, and on our website for more updates as the situation progresses.
To lessen the load on hospital emergency rooms, we will be available should you have a serious dental emergency.  You can reach Dr. Goggin via phone or text at 828-423-0146 or Rachel our office manager 828-571-0116.  We do request that if you have cold, flu, COVID-19 symptoms, or have been in an active COVID-19 area in the last 14 days or have been in contact with someone who has, please let us know before being seen.
For those of you with appointments in the coming weeks, we will reach out to you to reschedule your appointment.  Thank you for your understanding.
