Cancellation/No Show Policy
At Asheville Periodontics, we strive to provide excellent dental care to each and every patient. When an appointment is scheduled, that specific time has been reserved for you. When it is missed without adequate notice, that time cannot be used to treat other patients.
CANCELLATIONS
- If at all possible, we require that you provide our practice with a minimum of 48 hours notice, which will allow us enough time to schedule another patient at this time, and avoid an unanticipated void in our schedule. Emails and phone calls received after business hours will be considered received the next time our office is open. If you do not give the proper notice, a cancellation fee of $75 will be applied. This fee cannot be covered by your dental insurance plan and will be your direct responsibility. In the event there are two or more cancellations within a 12-month period, you and/or your family will be subject to dismissal, or may require prepayment for all future appointments before scheduling. No future appointments can be scheduled without payment of this fee.
NO SHOW
- A ‘no show’ consists of missing an appointment without providing proper notice. This includes arriving late enough to your scheduled appointment that it must be rescheduled. Patients who do not show for their appointment will be subject to a $75 missed appointment fee. This fee cannot be covered by your dental insurance plan and will be your direct responsibility. No future appointments can be scheduled without payment of this fee.
Late Arrival
- We understand that delays can happen, however, we strive to keep you, other patients, and all providers on time. If a patient arrives 15 minutes past their scheduled time for an appointment, we may have to reschedule the appointment, in which case you may be subject to a $75 cancellation fee. If a patient arrives late, but inside the 15 minute window, the amount of treatment rendered during the appointment may have to be adjusted accordingly.
Surgical Appointments
- Cancellation of a procedure/treatment appointment (SRP, surgery, biopsy, etc) without a minimum of a 48 hour notice will result in a $75 cancellation fee. The time has been reserved for your specific procedure and cannot easily be filled with something else last minute. In order to reschedule the treatment appointment, pre-payment of the entire appointment cost will be necessary before rescheduling.
No cancellations will be accepted unless confirmed by a team member. Emails, voice messages, text messages and phone calls received after business hours DO NOT meet this criteria and will be considered received the next time our office is open for regular business hours.
We understand that special and unavoidable circumstances may cause you to cancel with less than 48 hours notice. In this instance, fees may be waived, but only with management approval. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please let our team know and we will be glad to clarify any questions you may have. Thank you for understanding the importance of upholding reserved appointment times.
